About The Role
We are seeking two Senior Occupational Therapists to join our newly created moving and handling team. Our ambitious plan is to embed a ‘moving with dignity’ approach across Sandwell’s health and social care partners, focusing on facilitating and enabling independence and wellbeing. OTs will determine when specialist equipment and up‑to‑date moving and handling techniques can safely reduce carer handling.
The roles will be fixed term until March 2027. Secondment will be considered for applicants from Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust or Sandwell MBC.
What You’ll Do
* Carry out effective and proportionate assessments and make appropriate recommendations for specialist equipment to meet complex needs.
* Use your knowledge of health and social care legislation and its implications for practice.
* Build effective relationships with people, caregivers and other professionals.
* Deliver an enhanced customer experience that promotes wellbeing in local communities.
About You
* BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
* At least 1 year of experience, including a minimum of 6 months in an adult social care environment.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Significant knowledge of occupational therapy theories and practice.
* Ability to travel around the borough.
