Location: Dungannon Working Hours - Rotating Nights 18:00 - 06:00 Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday Week 2: Wednesday & Thursday The Role We are seeking an experienced Despatch Shift Leader to ensure the timely despatch of quality products in line with production plans and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in achieving operational performance targets while leading, developing, and motivating teams to deliver excellence every shift. You will be responsible for people leadership, operational effectiveness, food safety, and Health & Safety compliance within the Despatch department, supporting continuous improvement across people, processes, and systems. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operation of the Despatch department, ensuring Despatch on Time (DOT) and high customer service levels Maintain the highest standards of quality, hygiene, food safety, legality, and product integrity Manage, coach, and develop Controllers, Process Operatives, and Process Control Operatives Carry out performance management, first-level disciplinaries, and implement HR procedures Ensure effective shift handovers, including paperwork, systems, and machinery Plan and manage resources to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency Support daily production planning and report any variances or issues promptly Recruit and train Controllers and Key Operatives Drive continuous improvement in productivity, safety, environmental performance, and waste reduction Liaise with internal departments to ensure maximum efficiency and quality Cover for fellow Shift Leaders and the Despatch Manager as required Work flexibly across departments to meet changing business demands Health, Safety & Compliance Act as a frontline leader for Health & Safety within the Despatch department Ensure Pilgrim's Europe Health & Safety policies, statutory requirements, and SOPs are fully implemented Carry out accident investigations, risk assessments, and weekly safety inspections Promote safe systems of work, correct PPE usage, and high housekeeping and hygiene standards Lead by example to foster a strong safety culture Key Measures of Success Factory KPI targets Despatch On Time (DOT) Non-conformances Production waste Department efficiency Customer Service Levels (CSL) What We're Looking For Essential: Leadership or supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment Strong people management and communication skills Understanding of operational targets and KPI reporting Numerate and computer literate Strong organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills Flexibility to work rotating night shifts Desirable: NVQ Level 4 or third-level qualification Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Modern Apprenticeship FMCG experience SAP experience What We Offer A key leadership role within a global food manufacturing business Structured shift pattern with consistency Opportunities for training, development, and progression A culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement Apply Today!
