Job Title: M&A Data Quality Analyst

Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive M&A Data Quality Analyst to support the business in acquiring financial adviser firms. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and usability of client bank data. You will work closely with sellers, internal stakeholders, and technical teams to capture, cleanse, analyse, and migrate client data into our back-office system.
Key Responsibilities
Seller Liaison & Data Capture
o Engage with selling firms to gather detailed information about their existing client bank.
o Understand the structure, format and nuances of legacy data systems.
Data Analysis & Reporting
o Analyse client bank data to produce metrics, summaries, and statements that support due diligence and valuation.
o Compare data from multiple systems, including product provider platforms, to identify inconsistencies and validate accuracy.
o Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and risks that may impact the acquisition.
Data Cleansing & Preparation
o Collaborate with sellers to cleanse and standardise client data prior to acquisition.
o Apply validation rules and quality checks to ensure data readiness.
Data Transformation & Migration
o Manipulate and reformat data into import templates compatible with the target back-office system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM).
o Support the technical migration process, ensuring smooth data transfer and minimal disruption.
Post-Migration Support
o Assist internal teams with post-migration data cleansing and reconciliation.
o Monitor data quality and resolve any issues arising from the migration.
o Monitor data throughout the M&A earnout to ensure accurate deferred payment calculations are possible.
Internal Collaboration
o Work closely with internal IT teams to coordinate data migration activities, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system compatibility.
Skills & Experience
· Proven experience in data analysis, data quality, or data migration roles—ideally within M&A or financial services.
· Strong understanding of client data structures in financial adviser firms.
· Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power BI, and data transformation tools.
· Experience working with CRM or back-office systems used in financial services.
· Excellent communication skills for liaising with external sellers and internal teams.
· Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Desirable Qualifications
· Degree in Data Science, Finance, Business, or related field.
· Experience in UK financial services, particularly in acquisitions or integrations.
· Familiarity with regulatory requirements around client data in financial services.
