Supply Chain Manager – Manufacturing
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations within a dynamic ventilation manufacturing environment. This is a pivotal role, responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of materials, information, and products from suppliers to production, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will champion cost efficiency, implement innovative systems and processes, and align supply chain strategy with broader business objectives, ensuring high-quality, on-time production and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a supply chain team, including performance management, setting objectives, and maintaining high standards.
* Oversee and coordinate all supply chain activities, ensuring smooth operations from procurement through production.
* Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
* Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and enhance visibility across the supply chain.
* Ensure purchase orders are placed promptly and follow up to resolve potential supply delays.
* Collaborate closely with production, quality, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
* Monitor and optimise inventory levels to balance cost efficiency with service levels, actively managing slow-moving or obsolete stock.
* Analyse supply chain data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
* Manage purchase price variances, ensuring timely resolution.
Experience & Skills Required
* 5–10 years of progressive supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong leadership and communication skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience managing international supply chains, ideally including Far East sourcing.
* Proficient in ERP systems and supply chain analytics tools.
* Track record of implementing new systems or digital tools to improve supply chain performance.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Experienced in supplier relationship management.
* Knowledge of regulatory compliance and sustainability standards in manufacturing.
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and delegate effectively.
* CIPS qualification desirable but not essential.
