Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for producing and delivering mechanical building services designs from concept stage through to projectpletion. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and CAD technicians within a supportive and technically strong team.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing mechanical building services designs, calculations, specifications and drawings
Leading or supporting mechanical design packages across multiple projects
Coordinating with internal design teams, CAD specialists and external consultants
Attending site surveys, inspections and design meetings
Ensuring designsply with UK Building Regulations, industry standards and client expectations
Managing your own workload while contributing to wider team delivery
Projects you will work on:Industrial and manufacturing facilities
Education buildings
Healthcare environments
Hotels and leisure developments
Residential and mixed‑use schemes
MOD and secure‑infrastructure projects requiring robust mechanical engineering solutions
These sectors reflect the consultancy’s established capability within the UK construction industry.
Software used:
You will work with AutoCAD, IES, Hevp, and other modelling tools the consultancy invests in to support consistent, high‑quality design output.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
Experience delivering mechanical building services designs within a consultancy environment
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, UK Building Regulations and design standards
Effectivemunication and coordination skills
Ability to work independently on design tasks and manage deadlines
Desirable: experience in any of the listed project sectors, including MOD or secure‑environment projects
