Overview
We're seeking an experienced Team Manager (Substation Electrical Design) to join a growing engineering team delivering major power and renewable energy projects across Ireland. This position offers a great opportunity for a driven individual to take on a leadership role, managing a team of electrical engineers and overseeing the full design lifecycle of substation and grid infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team of electrical design engineers working on substation projects.
Manage design activities including primary and secondary layouts, protection, control systems, and technical documentation.
Review and approve designs to ensure technical accuracy, safety, and compliance.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on cost, quality, and schedule.
Mentor and support junior engineers, encouraging professional development.
Promote a strong safety culture and proactive risk management approach.
About You
Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
8+ years' experience in substation or power system design.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, ePlan, and MS Office (cable design software advantageous).
Strong understanding of transmission, distribution, and renewable energy systems.
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
Commercially aware, client-focused, and committed to high standards.
