Our client is a well-established logistics and transportation company with a strong presence in the European road import sector. We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented European Road Import Clerk to join our team and assist with the day-to-day operations of our Import Department. Duties include:
* Assisting the Department Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the department.
* Entering jobs and manifests onto the FMS (Freight Management System) for efficient tracking and management.
* Providing the warehouse and all other depots with the necessary information for the prompt and efficient off-loading of trailers.
* Liaising with Agents and customers to understand their needs and requirements, ensuring timely and satisfactory deliveries.
* Daily collation of information from Hauliers regarding arrival and departure times.
* Calculating prices and costs for specific manifests on a daily basis.
* Updating spreadsheets with relevant information to maintain accurate records.
* Assisting the Department Manager with consolidating and presenting data for monthly KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Previous experience in import/export or logistics is highly desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in using FMS systems and other relevant software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of European road transportation regulations and procedures.
* A proactive and adaptable approach to work.
