About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of its ethical sourcing. You will recommend recipes to customers and actively bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life.
You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, influencing their impression of the Waitrose brand and encouraging loyalty. Your efforts will help maximize sales and profit.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your own food counter, ensuring the highest standards of presentation and hygiene at all times.
* Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols and reducing food wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks when needed.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
* Effective communication skills to work well with team members and customers.
Desirable skills/experience you may have
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality environments.
* Interest and knowledge of food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch as needed.
