Why this job matters
This role will be a critical part of the team that will transform BT’s UK Business Connectivity portfolio through the use of Fabric (NaaS) platform. This is a major Business transformation project which will span multiple products - IPVPN, Ethernet and Internet Access – and deliver services for Critical National Infrastructure, Government and UK business customers.
What you'll be doing
As the Senior Planning and Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Fixed Networks developments and deployments are delivered to time, quality and budget. You may also be responsible for managing a small team of Technical Delivery leads / Product Owners.
Specifically, this role is accountable for:
* Overseeing all the Fixed Networks UK Fabric developments/workstreams and managing them to the agreed plan. Ensuring quality of delivery and budget control is adhered to. This will be a complex delivery portfolio - monitoring, escalating, and resolving delivery issues internally will be critical.
* Managing the resource plan to deliver. Ensuring budget cover is available.
* Managing (alongside Digital / Business colleagues) the Quarterly Wave Plan, and agreeing prioritisations.
* Managing overall project/programme risks and mitigations, obtaining buy-in from senior management for any changes / mitigations.
* Articulating strategic direction to the wider team, ensuring everyone is aligned to the requirements and project vision.
* Ensuring understanding of stakeholder goals and expectations, addressing misalignments, monitoring programmes to meet/exceed the agreed expectations and communicating with concerned stakeholder groups.
* Aligning with overall UK Fabric Programme team to ensure all plans/dates/milestones lined up.
* Mentoring, coaching, and managing a team to develop current and future team capabilities and ensure performance.
* Implementing a continuous improvement culture.

* Project / Programme Management including evidence of managing large complex projects
* Product Owner experience (Agile).
* JIRA for managing deliverables and risks

* Issue resolution / conflict management / influencing
* Budget management and PFT (resource allocation / tracking)

* Business Connectivity knowledge, particularly Ethernet / Internet / IPVPN
* OSS knowledge / understanding
* Commercial understanding e.g impact of late delivery of milestone
Desirable
* Experience of managing NaaS deployments
* Experience of managing IPVPN / Dedicated Internet Access deployments
* Migration experience
