Who are the team?
We are responsible for the creation of new schemes, delegated authorities, and product opportunities, as well as the ongoing improvement and development of existing schemes. We have a market-leading reputation for producing unique solutions for niche customer groups managed by our broker partners, and we are leveraging this expertise to enhance our product delivery across the UK retail business.
The Schemes & Partnerships team is characterised by its diversity and dynamism; we are a team of fifty professionals covering a broad range of roles and responsibilities, including schemes account managers, underwriters, analysts, due diligence experts, change analysts, and our regional administrator. We collaborate closely with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders, including underwriting management, regional underwriting teams, operational teams, product heads, partner brokers, and third-party providers.
The role
This role is pivotal in driving critical strategic projects and operational improvements for Schemes, encompassing operational, underwriting, and regulatory changes. It demands an analytical skill set, the confidence to make swift yet sound business decisions, a motivated mindset, and strong stakeholder management skills. The role is a blend of leadership, operations, analysis, and coordination of change projects
What you'll be doing
* Serve as a role model to drive our strategic initiatives and plans
* Manage stakeholders effectively across schemes and the broader business
* Deliver key projects to support our strategic vision
* Lead Schemes in understanding business-wide change projects and collaborate with key stakeholders to find solutions that meet business requirements.
* Analyse current processes and implement areas for improvement
* Represent Schemes at change-related forums, ensuring our business requirements are presented and factored into the delivery schedule
* Support Schemes Operations management in making priority calls due to conflicting workloads
* Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure schemes requirements are captured and delivered from initial concept to successful BAU operations
* Define operational best practices by:
o Acting as the key referral contact for technical expertise
o Identifying where projects or processes may overlap and working with the Schemes Delivery Manager to agree on the best way forward
o Coordinating across multiple projects simultaneously when necessary
o Supporting the Cutting the Tail project by championing governance and tracking differences with the wider business.
o Collaborating with the MI team to define our team's data requirements, focusing on both day-to-day MI needs and strategic growth plans
o Analysing performance metrics at a portfolio level and providing actionable insights to Schemes management.
Must haves:
* Organisational and prioritisation skills
* Strong Excel skills
* Confidence in decision-making
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence, and clearly articulate views
* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to minimum requirements
* Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to apply logical thinking and draw unique insights from diverse data points and MI.
* Experience working on projects as a BA, PM, or Architect.
