Inveralmond Community High School is a comprehensive, non-denominational school in the Ladywell area of Livingston, serving a cluster of six primary schools.
The school currently has a roll of 1000 pupils and provides a supportive environment with a strong focus on raising standards.
The school offers a broad curriculum from first to sixth year. The successful candidate will have the experience necessary to support the principles of Curriculum for Excellence and contribute to the school's improvement agenda.
Effective learning and teaching are central to all staff's responsibilities. It is essential that staff set high expectations to encourage pupils to reach their full potential, enabling them to become effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens.
Pupil involvement in the wider school life is encouraged.
As a Community School, we have outstanding facilities, including a swimming pool, two floodlit all-weather pitches, dance and drama studios, ICT suites, and a multimedia library, available during and after school hours.
A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland are essential.
This position involves Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a Scheme update check before starting employment. The candidate will bear the cost.
The fee for full PVG Scheme membership is £59; existing members pay £18.
