We offer real-time nanopore-based DNA/RNA sequencing technology: accessible, easy to use and fully scalable for any requirement We are looking for a highly motivated Software Automation Test Engineer to carry out the quality assurance stage of software development for our primary sequencing software. The Details As part of our team, the Software Automation Test Engineer will conduct and design automated and manual tests, as per the defined standards and procedures, to ensure the software built by our developers is fit for purpose. You'll find yourself working in cross-functional teams with software developers and project teams to deliver test plans, test cases, automated tests and reports on functional and non-functional requirements in a fast-paced agile environment. Other responsibilities include: Testing software releases by carrying out assigned tests Generating and completing test cases based on requirements Designing tests to mitigate risk Writing bug reports and providing objective feedback to software development teams Platform testing to include: desktop, tablet and mobile across Linux, OSX and Windows Working towards departmental and project deadlines Communicating findings to technical and non-technical colleagues What We're Looking For We'll expect you to have an undergraduate degree or equivalent experience and professional qualifications. You'll also be experienced in automated testing with proven knowledge of testing desktop and/or mobile software. You have the following experience: Programming language such as Python or JavaScript Writing automated tests in a framework such as Pytest, Jest, Robot or Behave Writing UI tests in a framework such as WebdriverIO, Cypress or any Selenium based framework A solid understanding of the software development life-cycle and testing methodologies Nice to haves include experience and knowledge of the following: Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) approach ReST API and/or gRPC Virtualisation technology such as Docker Linux/Unix JIRA and XRay Test Management for JIRA Testing for medical device software As liaising with a variety of different collaborators is a regular part of this role, we're looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills and an approachable manner that encourages interaction with others.
