We are currently seeking an interim Clinicals Technician (Hot Room) to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based at our client's scientific Research & Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral, easily accessible by train and car. This is a temporary role for 12 months, requiring 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, up to £12.67 per hour, depending on experience.
Working Hours: 30 hours per week over 4 days, Monday-Friday.
The job requires the staff member to start between 08:00 & 08:15 most days to align with subject visit schedules.
Please note: The vacancy is only open to females, as the role involves taking samples from, and applying products to, female panellists who will be partially clothed.
Job Purpose
To support Hot Room testing of antiperspirant efficacy on panels of healthy human volunteers in line with the Deodorants R&D Programme as part of the Deo Clinicals hot room team.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks
1. Perform, accurately and reproducibly, the key elements of hot room test protocols, including product applications, sweat collection, and sweat weighing; provide accurate documentation of test data.
2. Schedule quarterly testing plans in coordination with hot room colleagues based at the Leeds R&D site.
3. Treat panellists professionally, courteously, and according to the Consumer Centre Code of Conduct and Clinicals SOPs, including application of products to panellists' underarms.
4. Set up and conduct hot room tests using menu-driven computer applications.
5. Organize recruitment and complete screening of new subjects for the hot room panel.
6. Organize and deliver annual consenting and medical screening updates for the established hot room panel.
7. Participate in routine protocol-related work such as labelling test products, using balances, organizing product retains, and processing documentation.
8. Use standard computer-based packages (e.g., Word, JMP, web systems) for study preparation and conduct.
9. Accurately enter data into various software templates.
10. Experience with analysis and data storage systems is advantageous.
11. Report study outcomes to project teams.
12. Conduct Aluminium swabbing detection tests.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required
