Senior Project Manager – FCDO – G7
Free-Work UK is recruiting a senior project manager to lead a range of digital, data and technology projects underpinning secure government operations. Work closely with the FCDO, National Security and Defence teams to write business cases, translate requirements, realise benefits, and manage costs, quality and time.
Responsibilities
* Own the delivery of a portfolio of critical government security projects.
* Write business cases, translate requirements and manage benefits, costs, quality and schedule.
* Identify opportunities for new business and embed rigorous project risk and change‑management processes.
* Build strong relationships with senior leaders, technical teams, government partners and key stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with the Programme Operating Framework and champion user needs, accessibility and service‑design principles.
* Lead preparation for GDS assessments and collaborate with researchers, designers and technical architects to ensure secure, scalable services.
* Manage and appraise performance of the project‑management team and foster a positive working environment.
Candidate Profile
* APM PMQ, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management or equivalent certification.
* Strong understanding of Government Functional Standards, Secure by Design principles and Agile delivery methodologies.
* Proven ability to manage large budgets, risks and multi‑disciplinary teams.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with experience working with senior leadership.
* Familiarity with project tools such as MS Project or equivalent.
Qualifications
* APM PMQ, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management or equivalent certification.
