Working within our Water Operations department, we have a really exciting opportunity to join the team as a Water Network Technician where you will predominantly be ensuring the effective operation of the distribution Network. You will be involved in several daily activities to ensure the ownership and delivery of district metered area's, including leakage reduction, pressure management and continuous improvements of our assets. Also, you'll take ownership of network and customer issues, alongside building relationships with both our internal and external stakeholders. You'll be working in partnership with the Greater Water Infrastructure team as well, ensuring all work is safely carried out, follows the correct process, and uses solutions which are cost effective.
Responsibilities
* Lead and promote a safe working environment whilst ensuring all quality standards are met.
* Improve customer experience to prevent complaints by proactively owning and resolving customer service issues.
* Proactively manage and enhance both the internal and external relationships with all key parties including contractors, STW teams, COSC, Asset Creation and other supporting departments.
* Own and deliver all activities within their allocated DMA's including leakage reduction and DMA improvement.
* Identify mitigation measures to reduce Water Quality complaints in High Risk DMAs and promote long term solutions with Asset Optimisation Teams.
* Work with the Customer and Community Leads to promote and inform customers of works, impact and benefit, that take place in their communities.
* Ownership of metering's and pressures within their area.
* Ensuring 3rd parties do not misuse the distribution network and take enforcement action where required.
* Proactively protect vulnerable parts of the network preventing potential water quality and supply interruptions events.
* Responsible for the integrity of their district metered area's and promote ways of improvement.
* Work with the Asset Optimisation team to provide operational and technical input to ensure capital investment provides an end product compatible with operational needs and maintenance practices.
* Identify and promote asset investment requirements and any residual risks arising from operational activities and record details on the companies risk management database.
* Responsible for leakage and unaccounted for water reduction.
