A Specialist SEN/SEMH school in Gloucestershire is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Assistant to join their team. The school prides itself on providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is empowered to grow emotionally, socially, and academically.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
* Implement bespoke strategies to assist students in regulating emotions, reducing anxiety, and building resilience.
* Support classroom engagement by adapting resources and approaches to suit individual learning styles.
* Foster positive, trusting relationships that encourage confidence, participation, and personal development.
* Collaborate with teaching and pastoral teams to promote wellbeing, inclusion, and a positive school culture.
* Contribute to creating a safe, restorative environment where every pupil feels valued and supported.

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience working with children or young people with additional or complex needs (in education, care, or mental health settings).
* A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable pupils.
* Willingness to apply for or hold a valid Enhanced DBS check.
* Commitment to promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.

Why Join Academics?

* Be part of a passionate, supportive team making a real difference in children’s lives.
* Gain valuable experience in a specialist SEN/SEMH setting.
* Access excellent professional development opportunities.
* Enjoy a rewarding role with flexible work.

If you’re empathetic, motivated, and ready to help transform lives through specialist education, we want to hear from you! Apply now by submitting your CV in response to this advert and take the next step in your rewarding career supporting children with SEMH needs.
