An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk to join a forward-thinking team based within Care Group 2. The service provides a wide range of services including acute medicine, elderly medicine, stroke, haematology, cardiology, gastroenterology, diabetes and endocrinology, and respiratory. Our aim is to provide high-quality care to our patients with excellent patient experience outcomes.
Attention to detail, organisational skills, and clear communication are vital for this role, alongside good IT skills. This role will support the medical wards across the teams. Full support and internal training will be provided to the successful candidate.
The role involves providing administrative support to ward staff, liaising with other departments within the Trust and externally. It is an integral part of achieving the Trust's strategic objectives.
The post holder will assist in delivering a professional, high-quality administrative and clerical support service to a multidisciplinary team, meeting the needs of the service and complying with policies and procedures. The role requires working to tight deadlines while remaining calm, flexible, and organised.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Undertaking daily administrative and clerical duties specific to the ward to support patient care, following directions from ward managers, matron, and nursing staff.
2. Handling queries from service users, including GPs, patients, and their representatives, professionally and courteously, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
3. Ensuring all tasks meet high standards for patient safety, data protection, and information governance.
4. Liaising with the multidisciplinary team and external service users in a professional manner.
5. Performing other admin duties as required, supporting the service and working across sites if needed.
