The role
The Independent seeks an Optimization Editor for the UK late shift (4pm - 1am, Monday - Friday, with some weekends). The role involves working within a small team of digital publishing experts to expand the brand's reach. Candidates should have a strong news background, digital publishing expertise (SEO, social media, editing), and the ability to work independently to optimize content for large audiences.
This position is suitable for those looking to advance their careers, with responsibilities including crafting headlines, editing news copy, planning evergreen content, and engaging with AI tools like the Bulletin platform. Regular interaction with senior colleagues, including the Head of Growth, is expected.
Applicants must manage multiple priorities calmly and have the right to work in the UK. The role offers hybrid or remote working options, with periodic training at the London HQ.
