Remuneration: £36,000 - £38,000 per annum - plus £1,000 working from home allowance
Contract Type: Permanent/Full time – 40 hours per week
Location: Home-based/various UK meeting locations as required

Responsibilities:
* Process and manage information rights requests, including Subject Access Requests (SARs), ensuring they are handled within statutory timescales. Review records prior to release, undertaking necessary redactions to ensure legislative compliance.
* Ensure compliance with key data protection and information access legislation, including UK GDPR, DPA 2018, and healthcare regulations.
* Administer the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, including monitoring and coordination of activities to support it and the development and maintenance of improvement/action plans.
* Co‑ordinate the work of the IG Steering Group, liaising with attendees including SIRO and Caldicott Guardian and other associated subgroups as established. Assist in providing reports and minutes.
* Promote data protection by design and default.
* Understand the requirement for appropriate levels of information sharing arrangements commensurate with a data controller’s requirements and develop the use of template agreements and their implementation.
* Identify and support completion and compliance with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
* Work to promote risk awareness and a culture of openness throughout PUK so that IG is an integral part of daily work.
* Represent and act as lead advisor on all aspects of IG in the absence of the DPO.
* Respond to staff, patients and other professional bodies, requesting support and guidance and the establishment of an IG advice log.
* Support and assist the development and maturity of both the Information Asset Register and Record of Processing Activity and data flow mapping.
* Actively contribute to the formation each year of a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and support with the delivery and design of appropriate courses.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Experience working in an Information Governance team, ideally in a healthcare setting or similar environment.
* Supported projects in previous roles and be confident in using performance data to identify opportunities for service improvement.
* Experience in developing or delivering training is also beneficial.
* The ability to produce and analyse performance data for service improvement.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Understand the need for empathy with patients and the need to put patients first.
Highly organised and detail‑oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and excellent verbal and written communication skills. You’ll be confident handling confidential information, proficient in IT, and capable of producing high‑quality reports to make things happen. A team player, you’ll engage effectively with stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines. A sound understanding of data protection and a commitment to excellent service are essential, along with a willingness to learn and grow within the field of Information Governance. You will be team orientated and willing to work alongside others to uphold the PUK values.
