Key Responsibilities
At Asda, the Optical Manager ensures the team delivers excellent customer and patient care. Responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage the entire optical operation.
- Manage a team of optometrists and optical assistants.
- Oversee compliance processes and procedures.
- Review sales forecasting and department targets.
- Handle customer queries and sales transactions.
- Manage clinic operations and shop floor processes.
- Coach and develop the team in close partnership with an optometrist.
- Maintain the department’s equipment and readiness for customer needs.
- Organise and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Schedule (Rota):
- Tuesday – 09:00 – 18:00
- Wednesday – 09:00 – 18:00
- Thursday – 09:00 – 18:00
- Friday – 09:00 – 18:00
- Saturday – 09:00 – 18:00
Qualifications & Requirements
- Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the GOC.
- On track to meet statutory points requirement for CPD.
- Confident in coaching others and providing excellent customer and patient care.
- Proven leadership skills in a fast‑paced optics environment.
- Organised and able to manage time effectively.
- Driven and ambitious to ensure department meets targets.
