We are looking for a dynamic individual to be a part of our team. We are accepting applications for a Fitness Consultant.
Responsible to the Manager, Community Development & Support, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Qualifications
* Nationally recognized Fitness Certification (e.g., CanFitPro, NSFA, CFES)
* Experience working with high or at-risk elderly populations, including dementia, preferred
* Experience with weight room supervision
* Knowledge of health and fitness, dementia and cognitive impairments, flexibility, anatomy, physiology, exercise equipment, free weight exercise, documentation, core stabilization & therapeutic stretching, computer literacy, risk management procedures, environmental hazard awareness
* Attributes: Patience, professionalism, supportive, respectful, concern for others, cooperation, positive attitude, self-motivated, energetic
* Abilities: Follow employer policies, problem sensitivity, lifts and transfers (50 lbs), stamina, ability to work independently
* Regular and consistent attendance within the corporate standard
Responsibilities
* Complete orientations with new clients
* Design and instruct clients on tailored exercise programs (including warm-up, stretching, strength training, and cardiovascular activities)
* Teach fitness classes
* Perform administrative duties (e.g., filing, fee collection, member tracking, recruitment, answering calls)
Hours
40 hours bi-weekly (shift length varies)
