The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a Power BI Architect. This rolewill involve designing and implementing business intelligence solutions that meet the needs of the business. Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop data models, and create visually compelling reports and dashboards. The Power BI Architect will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into meaningful insights, driving informed decision-making across the organisation.
Role Responsibilities
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and understand reporting requirements.
* Translate business needs into technical specifications for Power BI solutions.
* Design and implement robust data models to support business reporting and analytics.
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity in Power BI datasets.
* Develop visually appealing and user-friendly reports and dashboards using Power BI.
* Implement best practices for data visualisation to effectively communicate insights.
* Integrate data from various sources into Power BI for comprehensive reporting.
* Optimize data refresh schedules and performance for efficient data retrieval.
* Implement and manage security measures for Power BI reports and dashboards.
* Define and enforce access controls to ensure data confidentiality.
* Promote the adoption of Power BI across the organisation.
* Conduct training sessions for end-users on how to interpret and use Power BI reports and dashboards effectively.
* Create comprehensive documentation for Power BI solutions, including data models, report specifications, and user guides.
About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or Architect, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
* In-depth knowledge of Power BI features, capabilities, and best practices.
* Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization principles.
* Experience working with SQL databases and other data sources.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Days/Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00
