About the role
We are seeking a Prescription Administrator Team Leader to join our friendly team at Hathaway Medical Centre. You will lead our Prescription Team, ensuring all prescription requests are actioned in a timely manner as well as accurately recorded and in line with practice and NHS standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with medication data, thrives on accuracy, and has the confidence to lead a team in a busy healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities
* Lead, motivate, and develop the Prescription Team.
* ·Handling prescription queries over the phone and face-to-face from patients, their family and carers, district nurses, pharmacies, and hospitals.
* Updating repeat medication list from clinic letters or discharge summaries from hospitals.
* Check when patient's medication is due to be reviewed and align review dates/booking in medication reviews if appropriate.
* Ensure GDPR and compliance in all data handling.
* Support clinical audits and quality improvement projects.
* Train and support staff on prescriptions
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients, and external agencies
Essential skills required
* Strong IT and analytical skills (Excel, MS Office, clinical software).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Experience working with data and/or medication in healthcare, NHS, pharmacy or similar environment.
* Leadership skills with the ability to manage and support a team.
* A proactive approach to problem solving and process improvement.
* Wants to be a part of a caring team and medical practice with excellent customer care skills
Desirable skills
* Previous NHS Primary Care experience.
* Team leader/management training.
* Knowledge of GP systems (SystmOne, QOF, iGPR and Peoplecloud).
* Pro-active, organised and attention to detail
