Children’s Residential Support Worker
A UK manual driving licence is essential (but you don’t need a car). You will also need experience in a similar role or personal life experience, and an understanding of the industry.
We are looking to recruit people to support children and young people in a residential home setting. Residential support roles require long day shifts with the ability to do sleep-ins at the home overnight.
ROC Northwest holds an esteemed reputation for offering high-quality residential care and education for children and young people with adverse childhood experiences, including those with mental health conditions such as Autism, Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD), and complex needs.
What is the role?
Your role will be to support our children in the homes we provide for them, in all aspects of their daily lives. You’ll help them maintain and develop relationships with friends and family, encourage community integration by attending clubs, events, and social activities. You will safeguard our children and report any suspicion or evidence of harm. When not in the service, you will undertake basic housekeeping duties where required. All activities are conducted in a genuine family-like environment, which is key to success in this role.
Other duties may include activities such as watching movies with the children, reading, taking walks, playing on a games console, or helping with other fun activities. We promote a fun and love-led environment, and you’ll be expected to participate and enjoy these activities.
We have a friendly team ready to welcome you to what could be the best job you ever have. All you need to bring is enthusiasm for supporting our service users and pride in being part of our family.
What do we look for?
* Experience in a similar role or personal life experience is preferred
* A desire to put others first and to feel proud of your achievements at the end of each day
* A Children’s Residential Level 3 qualification is desirable and offers a higher rate, but it is not essential
