As a Configuration Engineer, you are expected to: Drive a pro-active approach to C&DM into IPT’s Support the Head of Configuration and Data Management in encouraging new ideas and innovative solutions into the IPT and the Line of Business. (LoB) As an individual, you are expected: To participate in the resolution of C&DM issues within an IPT. To build and manage Customer and Supplier relationships To demonstrate self-management. To develop and promote knowledge and use of PLM and associated Engineering tools Key Responsibility Areas In addition to the above, you will be experienced in Supporting the generation and review of Configuration Management Plans Configuration Identification Change Control – Must have had experience in supporting Change Control Boards including Configuration status input to the Board Configuration Status Accounting with emphasis on the generation of Configuration Baselines to support Design reviews and Certification Support the Configuration Lead in the completion of Functional and Physical Configuration Audits Management of Data through to approval, release and delivery through the Company PDM tool including Dat delivary and receipt to specific programme security rules, export control and ITAR regulations. Implement and maintain transmission of data records, Co-ordinate with colleagues to ensure the project teams understand Data/ Document requirements. Responsible for operation of secure data transfer systems. Monitoring & reviewing accuracy of records. Advising the project teams of best practice. Contribute towards the Delivery of Milestones Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required You must have: A good understanding of Configuration Management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57. • A practical understanding and delivery of the five key elements of Configuration Management: Planning, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting and Audit / Verification (essential) Software Configuration Management at the point of release into the Product structure (desired) Providing a Configuration input to Design Reviews and Certification (Configuration Baseline Management) – (Essential) Use of Product Management Tools (essential) - Teamcenter version 13 (Unified) and SAP. (Desired) Strong Administration Skills with an attention to detail - you are required to have a logical mind-set What we need from you: IT Skills: Microsoft Suite particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. Ability to read technical documents, drawings and parts lists. Strong Attention to detail. Excellent organisation and planning skills. Administration experience. Awareness of IT remote access principals. Knowledge and understanding of MoD security classifications and the handling of related data. To be conversant with UK Government Export Control and ITAR regulations. Good communication skills. Due to the nature of our products you must be able to achieve UK Security Clearance (SC) and Developed Vetting (DV) in order to be authorised to access secure data and ITAR material.
