This is an exciting opportunity to join Moat as Director of Neighbourhood Services. As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing the Neighbourhood Services directorate to ensure consistently high-quality services across all tenures and drive to make a real, quality difference to people’s lives and communities.
Some responsibilities include:
* Lead and direct Neighbourhood Services teams to deliver outstanding, consistent services aligned with Moat’s Customer Offer.
* Oversee managing agents, contractors, and suppliers (e.g., grounds maintenance, estate cleaning, legal services) to ensure quality, compliance, and value.
* Develop and manage the directorate budget, KPIs, and performance outcomes.
* Engage, train, and motivate teams to deliver excellent customer-focused services.
* Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence.
* Identify, assess, and manage risks in line with organisational frameworks.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, regulation, and internal policies, including equality, diversity, and inclusion commitments.
* Keep accurate records and manage data in line with Moat’s Data Governance Framework and legal requirements.
* Contribute to strategic and business planning as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
* Deliver social value initiatives that benefit diverse customer groups.
Moat is looking to appoint a senior leader who has the following attributes:
* In-depth knowledge of the social housing sector and regulatory compliance.
* Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, and tenancy arrangements, including shared ownership and leasehold.
* Proven track record of leading large, multi-site teams in complex organisations.
* Minimum of four years in senior leadership roles (Head of or above), with at least one held for three or more years.
* Experience managing large budgets and complex contracts, including PFI or similar arrangements.
* Strong customer service ethos and alignment with Moat’s values.
* Experience in complaints management and multi-agency problem solving.
* Ability to manage complex managing agent relationships.
* Collaborative, adaptable, accountable, and committed to continuous improvement.
