Support Worker for Children with Additional Needs
Five Education currently has several vacancies supporting children with additional needs in mainstream and specialist schools around Taunton. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with young people, encouraging learning and personal development.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Supporting 1:1 in class
2. Assisting pupils to transition between activities
3. Helping pupils access and tailor the curriculum to their ability levels
4. Making learning engaging and enjoyable
5. Supporting pupils during struggles and helping them to calm down
6. Building strong relationships with pupils and staff to help pupils achieve their potential
Essential Criteria
* At least 3 months experience working with children or vulnerable adults
* Two references, one of which must be recent and related to work with children or vulnerable adults (paid or volunteer)
* Relevant DBS or Police checks
* Availability to work between 08:30-15:30, at least 2 days a week
*Note: If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we can assist with processing a new one at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of employment.*
