What we do: Provide a professional valuation and electoral registration service for both North and South Lanarkshire council areas in respect of the compilation and maintenance of the Valuation Rolls, Valuation (Council Tax) Lists, and electoral registers in line with statutory requirements. The Assessor and ERO will fully and completely discharge the statutory duties required of the Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) and will lead, direct and manage an effective Assessor and ERO service in accordance with the Board’s objectives and targets. The postholder must be a full, professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. The postholder will occupy a critical position within LVJB in order to achieve objectives and ensure compliance across key legislation. The postholder must also be able to demonstrate that they can meet the needs of key stakeholders by adding value through improving services while retaining objectivity. The postholder will be instrumental in identifying and delivering innovative service solutions, therefore we are looking for a high-performing individual with presence and credibility, who can communicate a clear vision for the future, manage teams, deliver results, and set high quality standards in the delivery of this role. Describe the main achievements of your career to date and how your experience and knowledge will equip you to undertake the post of Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer? The Assessor and Electoral Registration Officer is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans across local government and service boundaries. Describe an area of strategy that you have developed and implemented, explaining how you worked with others to achieve positive outcomes. Please provide an example of a change management initiative that you have led, detailing the impact of this change in terms of service delivery and improved ways of working. Overseas Criminal Records Check An Overseas Criminal Records Check is required where applicants born outside the UK (Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland) or who have lived or worked outside the UK for a continuous period of three months in the past 10 years. The check must be translated into English and should come from the police, judicial authority, government department or home embassy of the country or countries concerned. The check must include an official statement confirming that the applicant does not have any history of or pending criminal record proceedings. Checks may be carried out to authenticate the documents provided.
