Vacancy: Clinical or Counselling Psychologist / CBT Therapist for Op Courage, the NHS Veterans Mental Health & Wellbeing Service.
Location: Remote (1‑year fixed‑term contract). The service covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with its operational base in Reading, Berkshire.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist psychological assessments of clients using a variety of data sources, including psychological tests, self‑report measures, rating scales, structured observations and semi‑structured interviews with clients, family members and other professionals.
* Formulate and implement treatment plans based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence‑based practice.
* Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, considering theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors shaping the client’s presentation.
* Undertake risk assessment and management for individual clients and advise other professionals on psychological aspects of risk.
* Attend regular multidisciplinary meetings remotely to support service delivery and foster collaboration across the wider team.
Qualifications and Experience
* Holder of an HCPC‑regulated Clinical/Counselling Psychology qualification *or* a post‑graduate certificate in evidence‑based psychological treatments, eligible for BABCP accreditation.
* Training in evidence‑based psychological therapy for PTSD.
* Demonstrated experience working with people who have experienced common mental health problems across the lifespan and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
* Experience working with adults presenting with complex mental health difficulties.
* Experience working with traumatised people, including those with PTSD and/or C‑PTSD.
