We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading oil & gas organisation based in Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in engineering design, product development, and technical leadership within a specialist equipment environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Establish and maintain engineering standards, processes, and procedures
* Produce and review technical drawings and manufacturing documentation
* Develop assembly, disassembly, and redress procedures
* Generate engineering test requests and reports
* Lead design planning, reviews, and approvals
* Support product development and equipment qualification/testing
* Oversee prototype design and workshop testing
* Review customer specifications and technical data
* Ensure designs meet performance and engineering standards (API)
* Define Design Acceptance Criteria (DAC) based on customer requirements
* Maintain drawing control and integrity within systems
Requirements
* Bachelors degree in Engineering / Design (or similar).
* Strong knowledge of API (American Petroleum Institute) standards (API 11-D1, Q1 awareness).
* Experience with Solidworks is essential.
* Understanding of downhole, packer or completion equipment is essential.
* Strong knowledge of engineering design calculations and manufacturing principles.
