The role: As an organisation working with young people and young adults we wish to continue developing our services for our tenants and other young people in the local community. The Funding and Development Manager position will be central to the expansion and sustainability of our existing work.
YMCA Ripon are seeking a proactive senior manager to help us fully realise the potential of YMCA Ripon and to ensure we capitalise on available funds, grants and community support.
You will have relevant and recent experience of working in a 3rd Sector organisation, ideally with a youth, housing or community focus. No day will be the same and you will be required to work with colleagues to develop your work plan, create strategy and goals.
An ability to develop positive and supportive professional relationships with all stakeholders is essential as is experience of developing outcomes, consultation, demonstrating impact and reporting. You will have experience of communicating in a variety of ways to ensure all YMCA Ripon's messages are consistent and generate the required response from funders, young people, community members and organisations.
You will have a strong organisation ethos with the ability to research, record, identify opportunities and create successful funding applications. A cycle of fundraising applications will include:
Small grants – Awards for All, B and Q, Screw Fix, Local Fund, NYC Innovation funds.
Project grants – National Lottery Community Fund, Youth Innovation Funds, Combined Authority Grants.
Contracts – Young Peoples Pathway, Employability opportunities.
Community activity – fundraising events, Room Sponsor, food and gift collections.
Local Community grant givers – Rotary, Lyons, Scrap metal fund, Ripon Pantomime group.
We can offer this role as a 21-hour post up to full time at 37 hours. Detail about working hours are outlined in the letter you can download.
