About The Role
Dover College, part of the East Kent Colleges Group, is seeking to appoint an Art and Design Supply Lecturer to the approved staffing list.
Are you able to make a difference within your local community? If you're looking for flexible working throughout the week, supporting students in a college environment, then please read on.
As a group of six colleges (Ashford, Broadstairs, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone, Sheppey) and training units, you can be considered for work in other environments. This could be a great step towards a career with us as a group. We have a history of our Supply Lecturers being successful in further roles within the group.
Responsibilities
* Teach, train and assess students in your subject specialism(s)
* Ensure a high-quality learning experience
* Provide support to learners to enable them to achieve their maximum potential
Please note that our Supply Lecturers are paid £18.72 per hour worked. If planning and admin is required, a further half an hour may be claimed per hour of teaching. £140 per day is therefore a rate for 5 hours teaching with 2.5 hours of planning and admin.
Any addition to the approved staffing list is not a guarantee of employment or hours of work. Once you have been interviewed and all pre-employment checks are complete, you will be placed within the supply pool of staff available for temporary work. If we have an opportunity that meets your skill set, we will contact you to discuss the opportunity.
About You
You will be highly organised, creative and capable of planning and teaching engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress, to further plan intervention, will be a vital part of the role and ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
Ideally you will have experience of teaching or have delivered training in the workplace, although this isn't essential as training will be offered to the successful applicant. You must have a positive outlook, be empathetic towards learners and have strong class management skills.
You will be able to teach a range of designated study programmes and courses from Level 1 up to Level 3 and will be able to motivate learners to achieve and succeed on their programmes of study.
