The Role

To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality care in accordance with guidance given and work delegated by Registered Nurses. The post holder will provide clinical and clerical support in order to ensure the smooth running of the service, providing a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective.

Additional Information Specific to the Role

In addition to the clinical skills outlined in the Job description the post holder will require to hold proficient IT skills to effectively fulfil clerical duties such as:

* Photocopying/faxing/filing
* Dealing with enquiries either face to face or by telephone, from the general public, patients and external agencies.
* Provision of weekly, monthly and annual statistical returns
* Effective use of a PC and relevant software packages to ensure accurate information is available at all times
* Daily input to databases and/or clinical information systems as appropriate.
* Diary management and appointment systems.
* Day to day maintenance of departmental requirements to ensure smooth running of the department.
* Communicating face to face, via telephone, email or other electronic systems with clinical and non-clinical staff, patients, general public and external agencies for the purpose of relaying information and dealing with general enquiries.

What we'll need you to bring

* SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
* Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
* Ability to work unsupervised.
* To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
* Working knowledge of basic information technology
* Car driver with valid a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.

29.6 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.


Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Houldsworth-District Nurse/ LTC Team within Houldsworth Centre

The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager
