Job Title: English Teacher

Pay Rate: £163 – £263 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full-time, temporary or long-term
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated English Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Norham. You’ll deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils build confidence, improve their literacy skills, and develop a lasting appreciation for reading and writing.
Responsibilities
1. Plan and deliver well-structured English lessons that stretch and challenge all learners
2. Support student progress through effective assessment and targeted feedback
3. Create an inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels supported and inspired
4. Contribute to curriculum development and literacy initiatives across the school
5. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning
What We’re Looking For
6. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
7. Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and/or 4
8. Strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills
9. A positive, proactive approach to behaviour management and pupil engagement
10. Commitment to raising attainment and supporting students of all abilities
