The North Norfolk Railway operates steam and heritage diesel trains through beautiful coastal countryside between the Georgian town of Holt and the smart Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham. The 5½ mile line attracts around 150,000 passengers each year, is one of the County's most popular tourist attractions and hosts a series of popular annual events including the Forties Weekend in September and the acclaimed Norfolk Lights Express in November and December.
We are now seeking an Events & Visitor Operations Manager to plan and deliver a varied series of special events to create an inspiring and profitable annual programme that engages all audience segments and encourages first-time and repeat visits.
The successful applicant will liaise with performers, exhibitors, suppliers and volunteers to stage entertaining, safe and profitable activities to a very high standard that will enhance deliver excellent visitor experiences and enhance the Railway's reputation. Importantly, they will ensure events are delivered with very high standards of content, entertainment, and safety.
The postholder will also manage our Bookings Team, maximising income from pre-sales and group bookings and collaborate with other members of the commercial management team.
This is a full-time permanent position but exact hours will vary according to the events programme and time of year. Opening times include weekends & holiday periods with special events often taking place at these times, so some weekend & Bank Holiday working will be required as the post-holder will needed on site during most events. Planning takes place year-round and we are able to offer some flexibility around working hours for these aspects of the role.
