Role Description
Leveraged Finance Credit supports the development, due diligence, approval, and implementation of leveraged transactions for corporate and financial sponsors, including leveraged buyouts, M&A, refinancings, recapitalizations, and restructurings. As a senior member of the team reporting directly to one of the Co Heads of EMEA Leveraged Finance Credit, you will lead deals through the internal approval process, deliver consistent credit support, execute transactions, perform credit analysis, review risk ratings, analyze due diligence, write credit memoranda, and negotiate documentation where appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Provide independent assessments and recommendations to approval committees and senior decision makers.
* Work closely with junior team members, mentoring and coaching as needed.
* Hold primary credit responsibility for a portfolio of names, maintaining timely and accurate monitoring of risk ratings, financial reports, compliance certificates, forecasts, and annual reviews.
* Establish and maintain a deep understanding of the portfolio at client, industry, and macro levels to assess risk and form considered opinions.
* Ensure adherence to prevailing credit policy and procedures.
* Engage professionally with third parties such as legal counsel, due diligence sessions, management teams, and client representatives.
* Maintain exposure to the full Global Banking & Markets product spectrum and collaborate across multiple stakeholders, including Leveraged Finance, Financial Sponsors, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Sales & Trading, Legal, and Risk.
Qualifications & Skills
* Strong stakeholder and transaction management skills.
* Credit risk awareness and understanding of risk drivers, appetite, and ratings.
* Familiarity with leveraged structures, terms, and derivatives.
* Relevant experience within Leveraged Finance is preferred.
