The job
We are hiring anexperiencedIndustrial AI applicationLead(ForwardDeployedEngineer)tojoin the AI Investigation andIncubationteam. This leader willdrive the development and deployment of AI solutions in industrial settings.Thishands-onsenior role will bridge the gap between AI technologies explorationand real-world applications, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide industrial domainexpertiseto guide AI tool, platform, and roadmap decisionsand development
2. Work directly with internal and external customers in a consultative, problem-solving manner togather feedback andrefine solutions
3. Drive investigations into the application of advanced AI capabilities to industrial problems.
4. Identifyand define industrial use cases for AI applications
5. Develop AI-enabled demos, prototypes, and proof-of-value solutionsfor industrial problems
6. Collaborate withcross-functional teamsto integrate AI capabilities into industrial software systemsandimplement AIsolutions
7. Evaluate the performance andimpactof AI models in operational environments
8. Support and mentorjunior team members
Essential Requirements
9. 10+ years of experiencein industrial systems, automation, applied AI, or AI-enabled software engineeringwith at least 3 years in acustomer-facing,technical lead position
10. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science,Engineering,Industrial Systems,or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred
11. Exceptionalindustrial domain understanding (manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, asset-intensive industries,materialscience,etc.)
12. Customer-focused, pragmatic, and results-orientedwith experience leading cross-functionaltechnicalprojects or customer engagements
13. Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying or integrating AI/ML solutions into real-worldindustrialenvironments
14. Ability toidentifyemerging opportunities for AI in industrial applications
15. Excellent communicationand interpersonalskillswiththe ability toembed closely with customer teams andcollaborateinternallyacross engineering, product, andcommercialteams
Desired skills and competencies
16. Experience working across on-prem, edge, and cloud-connected architectures
17. Prior work in environments transitioning from traditional on-prem systems to AI-enabled or hybrid architectures
18. Experienceoperatingwithin regulated or compliance-driven environments (e.g.healthcare, safety-critical systems, data privacy)
19. Experience mentoring or guiding less-experienced engineers

20. AI solutions are successfully applied toreal industrialproblems, not just conceptual designs
21. Prototypes and deploymentsdemonstratepractical feasibility and measurable impact
22. Codifiedlearnings, insights and architecturalpatterns intoreferences, guides, playbooks, or building blocks thataredigestibleand actionable forothers
23. Industrial constraints (latency, security, compliance, reliability) are addressed through solid engineering decisions
24. Strong collaborationin a matrix / incubation environment, contributing as a senior technical practitioner
25. Feedback from field deployments meaningfully influences AI platform and product direction
