We’re looking for a Laser Team Leader to oversee our CNC laser cutting department, leading a team of operators working on Trumpf Laser machines. What You’ll Be Doing Lead and coordinate a team of CNC laser operators, ensuring production runs smoothly. Plan and organise shift patterns, overtime, and daily work schedules. Make sure production targets, quality standards, and deadlines are consistently met. Monitor machine performance and coordinate both planned and reactive maintenance. Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment, promoting strong H&S awareness. Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives. Work closely with production planners, engineers, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve output. Train, mentor, and assess team members, helping them build their skills and confidence. Help identify process improvements and contribute to the department’s ongoing development. Initially working day shift whilst in training, then will move to shift working (6-2 and/or 2-10) What We’re Looking For Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to motivate, lead, and support a small team in a fast-paced environment. A practical, problem-solving mindset with focus on quality and efficiency. Good communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the business. Commitment to continuous improvement and supporting team development. Technical Skills & Experience Proven experience operating and setting Trumpf CNC laser machines (essential). Strong understanding of laser cutting parameters, materials, and nesting software. Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD files. Familiar with ERP systems and production tracking tools. Experienced in basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
