Day-to-Day Duties
Act as the lead contact for all onsite Quality and HS&E management activities.
Manage, mentor, and support a team including 2 direct Quality reports (Quality Engineer & Process Engineer).
Develop, implement, and maintain Quality and HS&E management systems to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
Lead on customer and supplier non-conformances, problem-solving, and corrective actions.
Manage manufacturing losses including MRB and scrap reduction.
Oversee statutory inspections, workplace monitoring, occupational health surveillance, and emergency procedures.
Support manufacturing processes through PFMEA and control plan development.
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, and employee HS&E training programmes.
Conduct regular HS&E walk-through audits and ensure timely close-out of actions.
Drive culture change for HS&E and Quality across the Manchester site.
Manage KPIs, quality boards, audit schedules, and compliance reporting.
Liaise with external auditors, customers, suppliers, and certification bodies.
Ensure legal compliance is maintained at all times.
Essential Skills
GRAD IOSH member of IOSH.
Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001 (or OHSAS 18001) and ISO 9001.
AIEMA Environmental status.
Proven track record in Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental management within a manufacturing environment.
Advanced IT skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills
NEBOSH certification (or willingness to work towards).
Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
CDM experience.
ILM qualification.
Train the Trainer (PETTLS) qualification.
Knowledge of PFMEA and control plans.
Training
Full training and assessment provided.

Support in achieving further certifications where required (e.g. NEBOSH).
