We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to provide technical and project execution support within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting maintenance and operations teams, coordinating capital projects, and ensuring the accuracy of mechanical documentation and asset information. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation, hands‑on project experience, and a commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
This position requires flexibility to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including weekends and holidays, as business needs dictate.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide technical engineering support to maintenance and operations teams
* Plan, schedule, and coordinate installation and commissioning activities for capital and improvement projects
* Support mechanical project execution from concept through startup
* Maintain, update, and manage mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and documentation in both digital and hard‑copy formats
* Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure project scope, schedule, and safety requirements are met
* Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis related to mechanical systems and equipment
* Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)
* Legal authorization to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available)
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in steelmaking or heavy industrial manufacturing environments
* Prior leadership or supervisory experience
* Project Management certification (PMP or similar)
* Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
