Plumber
This is a full-time role for an Experienced Plumber covering Romford, Watford, Enfield and Harlow.
Responsibilities
* Excellent time management to ensure works are carried out at and within the scheduled timings.
* Liaising with client/site personnel with regards to work progress/issues and ensuring these are communicated to the office immediately.
* Ability to work alone and/or project manage/lead a team of engineers.
* Conduct remedial pre-start surveys to identify scope, materials and requirements to deliver in line with budgeted cost – working with sales to price accurately.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and remedial/plumbing tasks for the adequate control of Legionella bacteria, including:
o Temperature monitoring of water services (plant and distribution)
o Thermostatic mixer valve inspection, servicing and installations
o Water sampling for microbiological analysis
o Clean and disinfection of water systems
o Dead Leg removals
o Hot & Cold-Water Storage Modifications/Revision
o Installation of various valve types
o Copper and Steel pipework modifications and soldering
o Various other plumbing related work on hot and cold-water systems
* Strong technical knowledge on hot and cold domestic water systems.
* Ability to identify potential non-conformances and liaise internally for cross/upselling opportunities.
* Support the sales department with generating accurate and cost-effective quotes for remedial/plumbing tasks, considering labour and material requirements.
* Organise appropriate equipment for tasks and ensure equipment is functional and within calibration limits.
* In conjunction with Stores/Workshop Manager, ensure general and specialised equipment is maintained; report unserviceable equipment and deficiencies as needed.
* Arrange travel to and from clients’ sites as necessary.
* Carry out tasks in accordance with company method statements and procedures.
* Record site findings and recommendations in full using a Digital Compliance System.
* Represent the company and promote a professional image; set a good example to others.
* Ensure adherence to company procedures.
* Train other members of the surveying team when required (internal & external).
* Act in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct at all times.
* Complete tasks within allotted costs, even if not a budget holder.
Qualifications
* City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumbing (at a minimum).
* At least 2 years’ experience as a qualified plumber.
* Ability to work on both commercial and domestic properties.
* Legionella awareness would be desired – City and Guilds accreditation is preferred.
