We are looking for a Graduate Infrastructure Surveyor who has an interest or some experience within the telecoms sector due to an increase in client base and instructions over the last 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in as you develop in the role and work towards your APC. You will be focussed less on transactional matters but rather providing strategic and tactical advice along with supporting on litigation and expert witness reports to both internal and external clients. Due to the scope of Carter Jonas' work in infrastructures and beyond, there are opportunities to broaden your experience across property consultancy.
As sector specialists in fixed, mobile and broadcast telecoms property advice, we help clients to understand complex issues and risks to their property and land where it is impacted by existing and proposed rights. Those clients range from private individuals to international property investment funds across all asset types and regions of the UK.
Our multi-disciplinary approach to telecoms will see you working with colleagues from our wider infrastructures team and also the other divisions within Carter Jonas to deliver class leading advice and thought leadership to existing and new clients. This role expects candidates to have experience in providing written and verbal advice to clients, backed by a deep understanding of the market, case law, the Code and landlord and tenant matters.
WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL?
Candidates applying to Infrastructures will be from a variety of backgrounds, we are interested in receiving applications from students available to join us in Autumn 2023 who have a keen interest in the infrastructure of our country and telecommunications in particular. You will be from land management, environmental, infrastructure, planning & development, land administration, geography, real estate and various educational backgrounds, you will develop a broad understanding of the role in the entire property/real estate lifecycle from land registration/mapping to management to development to remediation and re use.
Ideally you will have a RICS accredited degree, however we do welcome applications from candidates with non-accredited degrees and other relevant qualifications. Experience within a real estate or civil engineering organisation across the rural, commercial or energy sectors gained through work experience or placements will be an advantage. It is essential that you have a full driving license as regular travel is required.
