Salary: £34,4343 £38,220 per annum (Grade 6 - plus additional payments for essential car user and unsociable hours allowance)
Hours: 36.66 per week (plus 8 hours per month unsociable hours)
Location: Sir Robert Peacock House, Vulcan Street, Oldham, OL1 4LA

Role Overview:
Working with Oldham Council's Licensing Service you will carry out key functions to ensure compliance across the range of licences issued. The core of Licensing centres around keeping residents safe and secure whether that's travelling in licensed taxis or visiting licensed premises. As a Licensing Officer you will be at the forefront of working alongside individuals and businesses to educate and maintain compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* To carry out all duties undertaken by the Service as directed and commensurate with the professional post assigned, including:-
* The inspection of vehicles, premises and activities of commercial enterprises operating in the Borough and codes of practice and other guidance including statute;
* The provision of quality advice and assistance to residents and traders in the Borough;
* To ensure compliance of trade permissions/licences
* The investigation of criminal or civil infringements;
* The maintenance of appropriate records relative to all work undertaken; and
* The preparation of infringement reports for criminal or civil proceedings;
* To prepare and present representations and reviews under the Licensing Act 2003; and
* To oversee the testing of applicants and awareness of rules and conditions.
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will be able to:
* Handle criminal evidence
* Prepare reports for prosecution
* Give evidence in court
* Undertake inspections at trade premises
