If so, look no further! Randstad is searching for a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to work in and around Nelson. An individual who desires to work closely with students who need additional assistance in the classroom should be qualified for this position. A highly rewarding position, SEN teaching assistants must have patience and an understanding of individual needs. Certifications are preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have excellent transferable skills and a love for working with children.
Roles include:
1. Supporting student's physical, social and emotional well-being
2. Working as part of a team
3. Being able to communicate well with children, manage their behaviour and resolve issues in the classroom
4. Mentoring and guiding students requiring extra support
5. Listening, discussing and explaining
Requirements :
6. Experience working or volunteering with SEN pupils
7. An enhanced DBS (or willingness to get one)
8. Knowledge of the curriculum
9. Have the desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and or behavioural management needs
