People & Culture Advisor
Position within the People Experience team, part of the People & Culture Department. Provides seamless HR advice and operational support to the Disputes, Antitrust and Employment client groups and Newcastle-based teams. A 6-month fixed-term contract based in Newcastle with occasional travel to London.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the People & Culture Business Partner for Disputes EMEA in delivering proactive, high-quality service to client groups.
* Provide advisory support on employee lifecycle activities, including starters, leavers, secondments, family-friendly leave, absence and wellbeing.
* Offer guidance on employee relations issues such as performance, probation, sickness absence and assist with grievance and disciplinary meetings.
* Escalate high-risk matters to senior advisors when required.
* Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to ensure seamless operational delivery of recruitment, onboarding, promotions, salary reviews and other cyclical activities.
* Conduct exit interviews and manage the overall exit process.
* Coordinate new-hire integration and induction with hiring managers.
* Act as liaison for global mobility, immigration and visa matters with the Global Mobility team.
* Maintain transactional processes in Workday and ServiceNow within agreed SLAs.
* Review data-driven insights, identify trends and report to the People & Culture Business Partner.
* Participate in HR projects and initiatives that align with business objectives.
* Champion continuous improvement initiatives, providing feedback and implementing changes with training where needed.
* Stay current on People & Culture trends, CIPD resources and learning opportunities.
Skills & Experience
* Previous HR experience at HR Assistant / HR Advisor / junior HRBP level.
* Experience in a law firm or partnership structure is desirable.
* Proven ER case management experience.
* Sound knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
* Highly proactive, responsive and customer-focused with strong commercial outlook.
* Excellent organisational, judgement and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Strong stakeholder relationship building, influencing and negotiation abilities.
* High accuracy, attention to detail and strong IT skills (Teams, Office 365, Workday).
* Experience in a professional services environment is a plus but not essential.
* CIPD professional qualification is desirable but not essential.
