At East Boro, we are passionate about helping people live as independently as possible in their own homes. We are looking for Casual Care and Support Workers to join our friendly Domiciliary Care and Support Team.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support service users with a range of everyday tasks and activities, including:
o Medication needs
o Shopping, cleaning, cooking, and healthy eating
o Correspondence and applying for jobs
o Participation in social and leisure activities, such as day trips, outings, and discos
o Providing companionship and promoting independence
* Assist with personal care tasks, such as:
o Getting up in the morning or going to bed
o Washing, bathing, hair care, denture and mouth care
o Dressing and undressing
o Toileting, including safe cleaning and disposal of waste
o Moving and handling, including transfers or hoisting where required
o Food and drink preparation, eating and drinking
o Maintaining kitchen hygiene and cleanliness
What We’re Looking For
* Good communication skills
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Compassionate and patient attitude
* Ideally some experience in a caring industry
* Will pass a DBS check or be on the DBS update service
* Verify your right to work in the UK
* Even better if you have previous experience working for personalised care services for adults with physical, learning, and mental disabilities and providing personal care
