We are looking for a caring individual with (or working towards) a NVQ Level 2/3 or Health & Social Care qualification. You will be joining a busy Imaging department providing scans and x-ray examinations for the Emergency Department, In-patient and Out-patients services. You will be part of a large multidisciplinary team including radiographers and radiologists. We are looking for someone to support with patient flow and to cannulate patients. The role is varied and requires evening and weekend working. You will be based at Princess Royal Hospital, and on rare occasions may be required to work at other Trust sites.
Main duties of the job
The Radiography Department Assistant (RDA) is expected to actively participate as a member of the Imaging team and is responsible for contributing towards the smooth and efficient running of the department, particularly in the areas of CT and Fluoroscopy.
The RDA will assist the radiographers, radiologists and nurses in giving individualised care to the patients. They will cannulate patients and assist with operational flow of the department.

1. To maintain confidentiality of all information obtained on patients or via clinical access.
2. Participate as a member of the department team providing the highest standard of holistic care and ensuring effective communication with other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
3. Correctly identifying and preparing patients for the appropriate procedure, including adequate screening for patient safety.
4. To be prepared to be flexible in shift patterns and to work evenings and weekends.
5. To be competent (after training) in performing intravenous cannulation.
