We are currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Belper. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education, who are confident managing classrooms & supporting students' learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 & Key Stage 4. This role does not require subject-specific teaching, but you must be able to manage classroom behaviour, ensure that students remain on task, and report any issues back to the relevant staff. This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and supervise lessons set by the class teacher across various subjects
* Maintain a focused, safe, and respectful classroom environment
* Manage behaviour in accordance with the school s behaviour policy
* Support students with their learning and answer general questions where needed
* Complete any administrative tasks related to the cover lesson (e.g. feedback forms)
* Report any safeguarding or behaviour concerns to senior staff
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following:
* Experience:
o At least 1 year of experience working with young people (preferably in a secondary school or youth setting)
* Qualifications:
o A degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential
* Skills:
o Confident classroom presence and good behaviour management
o Strong communication and organisational skills
o Adaptable and resilient approach to managing varied classroom situations
o Professional and approachable manner
* DBS Check:
o All applicants must hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce). If not registered on the update service, the cost may be passed to the applicant. Link3 Recruitment is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Location
This role is based in Belper, covering a range of secondary schools within the area.
