Position Overview

Income Maximisation and Advice Officer (fixed term until 31/03/2027) – City Chambers, Edinburgh.

Salary: £34,452 – £40,501 (pro‑rata for part‑time).
Hours: 21.6 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.


Key Responsibilities

* Work within a multidisciplinary team including social workers, support workers, health and housing professionals.
* Provide services to Care Leavers (as defined by The Children & Young People (Scotland) Act 2014). Offer advice and assistance to young people claiming benefits to maximise their income.
* Liaise with relevant agencies, particularly the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
* Provide advice and help to young people claiming benefits and maximise their income.
* Based at CEC City Chambers Complex in the High Street but also conduct work within the community.
* Carry out regulated work with children and protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.


Qualifications & Requirements

* Must join the Protection of Vulnerable Individuals (PVG) Scheme or complete a PVG Scheme update check.
* Must undergo a police or overseas criminal record check if spent 3 months or more outside UK in last 5 years.
* Adaptability, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
