The Headteacher and Governing Body at Clytha Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organized, and highly motivated School Support Officer Level 2 (Grade 3) to join our happy school. This is a permanent post commencing around Monday, 1st September 2025. This vacancy has arisen due to the retirement of the current post holder.

This is a unique opportunity to join a well-established yet forward-thinking school. As a School Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for parents, children, and visitors entering or telephoning the school. It is essential that you have a calm, friendly manner and enjoy working with both adults and children, possessing excellent communication skills. The appointed person will be required to perform duties as detailed in the attached job description.

The appointment process will include a short interview with the Headteacher and a Governing Body member, along with a task.
The Governing Body and Local Authority are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
Working hours will be 22.5 hours per week, from 8:45 am to 12:45 pm, Monday to Friday, with the potential for an additional afternoon session from 1:15 pm to 3:45 pm once a week, on a day to be agreed.
